Well we are in a new year - hello 2021! I have already begun creating some new pieces using some of my favorite vintage treasures. I truly love vintage repurposed jewelry. There is something incredibly wonderful about wearing a vintage pendant or charm reworked into a new piece of jewelry. The mystique of not knowing who wore the piece and where it was worn creates a special feeling whenever you wear repurposed vintage jewelry.
Here is a vintage charm bracelet I created using an antique 10k gold watch chain, oxidized metal bead chain and a very unique religious charm featuring Maria Giuseppa Rossello, who was declared a saint by the Catholic Church. She was an Italian Religious Sister who founded the Daughters of Our Lady of Mercy. On the other side is an engraved image of Pope Pius XII.
Below is a altered vintage rosary with carved bone beads. I used a vintage rose for the rosary center followed by more vintage carved bone beads and then an antique bone brass capped spike. I love this piece-- it's a mix of elegance + edge. The second shorter necklace is created with cream faceted glass beads and an oxidized sterling silver sacred heart rosary center followed by a wire wrapped garnet gemstone. Two oxidized spikes dangle next to sacred heart. Love these 2 necklaces together - perfect statement piece.
Here teal crystals beads are linked together rosary style and showcase antique silver religious medals. I've layered these necklaces with a sterling silver oxidized bead chain necklace and a long bezel set crystal brass necklace for fun. I love mixing metals for an eclectic look.
