Aside from nailing the application, and keeping your eye makeup look simple, you can pull off the boldest hues by simply matching your blush to your lips. It’s a subtle nuance that acts as the glue between your complexion and the bright color.
Case in point: Kate Bosworth at a fete for Jimmy Choo in Los Angeles earlier this month. Makeup artist Pati Dubroff mixed two lip colors, and two blush colors, to make a combination that is perfectly in sync.
Dubroff used Nars’ Velvet Matte Lip Pencil ($24) in Dragon Girl to line Bosworth’s pout, then layered the brand's 413 BLKR all over her lips for the perfect shade of bright pink. Then, Dubroff applied a combination of the two pink hues in Kevyn Aucoin’s The Creamy Glow Duo ($28) in No. 2 Pravella/Janella to the actress’ cheeks.
