Dressing With An Edge

Go Edgy, Not Punk!

The key to pulling off an uber cool, hip look is to add only 1 or 2 edgy pieces to your outfit otherwise you risk looking a little punk or goth (i.e. 'girl with the dragon tattoo'). Below are some of my favorite looks.

Always popular is the LEATHER MOTO JACKET...

(Bonus points if it's red and paired with a bit of leopard!)

"Natural Horn Necklace"  (naturally shed by animal)

"Gold Antler Necklace"

Add some studs...

Wear Black Oxidized Silver Jewelry...

"Gold Triangle Geometric Necklace"
"Gold Bead Bar Necklace with Pyrite" shown with "Herkimer Diamond Bar Necklace"

Add some Black Flat Lace Up Boots or Moto Boots...

Always:  BLACK JEANS...

Gladiator Sandals...

Jewelry Inspired by Nature with Oxidized Silver and Gemstones

Ocean Blue, Teal, Blue Green - The Colors of the Ocean

Had to escape the heat yesterday (100 degrees), so we hopped in our car and headed to the ocean. I have wanted to visit these amazing bluffs in Santa Cruz for some time and turns out yesterday was the perfect day to discover them. Breathtaking!  When I came home, I found myself at my work table gravitating towards my blue green teal gems. Below are 2 necklaces I created inspired by these awe inspiring views of the ocean.

Bay Area Back Roads - Great Views and Hiking

Mt. Diablo - Rock City

Needing a break from work, my 2 boys and I, (Winston the Maltipoo and Steve the fiance), drove up to Mt. Diablo for a little change of scenery. Having grown up in Walnut Creek, it had been years since I last visited this majestic mountain. There were so many places to stop along the long drive up this mountain offering beautiful vistas that took my breath away. One of our stops shown below, was Rock City. I was quite excited about the wind caves and could not resist crawling to one! The wind caves are an area where sandstone rock has been eroded away leaving large pocket holes in the stone.

Pave Diamond Jewelry - Oxidized Silver

Glamorous With An Edge

What are you crazy in love with these days?  My current obsession is any piece of Oxidized Silver Pave Diamond Jewelry. I love how the oxidized silver is juxtaposed with tiny pave diamonds-- glamorous with an edge-- sophisticated and chic without being 'prissy'. Here are a few of my favorite pieces.  [Click on any of these titles to see more images.]
